I’m Jared — an engineer based in Southern California who likes to make things that actually work.

My day job is in engineering, but the garage is where the real projects happen. I run a Bambu Lab P1S with AMS and spend more time than I probably should designing parts in SolidWorks, tweaking print settings, and figuring out why something failed so the next one doesn’t.

What MizuMakes Is

MizuMakes is where I document what I’m building and what I’ve learned. The focus is practical — functional prints, useful guides, honest gear recommendations. Not aesthetic showcases or theoretical deep dives, just stuff that works and why.

What I Print

Mostly functional parts. Bike components, workshop tools, things for the house, electromechanical projects. If there’s a problem that a 3D printed part can solve better than buying something, that’s the project.

The Gear

I run a Bambu Lab P1S with AMS for multi-color and convenience, and design everything in SolidWorks. For filament I mostly use Polymaker, HATCHBOX, and ELEGOO — good quality, available on Amazon next day, no need to pay Bambu prices for most prints.

YouTube

I also post on YouTube at @MizuMakes3D — build videos, project walkthroughs, and the occasional filament test.
